Perhaps we were never meant to find life beyond Earth. Maybe, we were supposed to be the ones creating it, transferring bacteria and microorganisms on our rockets, space ships, satellites... It is impossible to sterilize every surface.

Will we be the gods of some alien religion?

Will they wonder how the first form of life came to exist on their planet?
